Children's Dentistry in Dartmouth

The Canadian Dental Association recommends that children be seen by a dentist after their first tooth comes in, or at one year of age. This is to prevent dental disease and promote the total well-being and health of all children.

Examinations at an early age can help detect problems early. They allow your dental team to provide important information regarding diet and home care and help keep your child decay-free for life. At this early visit, the dentist will assess the risk of dental disease, initiate a preventative program and provide guidance on issues concerning oral hygiene, diet, and fluoride use. It will also establish a “dental home” for the child where we will follow the child and watch over their oral health as they grow and flourish.
